A film with no statutory warning from Censor

If you are a regular moviegoer, you would easily understand what we are talking about here. Remember the statutory warning ads that play the beginning of movies in cinema halls, yes, the ads through which the name ‘Mukesh’ become extremely popular, imagine those ads not being part of the film, along with the message popping up throughout the film.

This is going to officially happen for a new film releasing from Tamil film industry. The name of the film is Orange Mittai and it stars the present cult star of alternative cinema in Tamil, Vijay Sethupati. Orange Mittai is apparently a film devoid of any kind of smoking or alcohol representation in any kind of form and hence the decision by the censor board to not show the message throughout the film.

While unofficially few theaters might be removing the ads and messages, this is a first of sorts for any film India. We have to see if more films are allowed similar benefit in future if they too have such content.
