Actress gets life sentence for murdering director

A Kollywood actress by name Sangeetha was ordered a life imprisonment for murdering an upcoming director Selva in 2007. Saritha alias Sangeetha was convicted of murder of the director in a lodge for non-payment of her dues by director Selva. She strangled him to death and later agreed the guilt.

Though she was arrested and taken into custody, she went into hiding for seven years after obtaining bail. The police traced her after seven years in 2014, once again took her into custody and since then the criminal case proceeded without further clitches as the actress agreed to the murder.

After cross examination and arguments by both parties, the first additional court sessions judge in Chennai gave his verdict on the murder, convicting Sangeetha and sentencing the actress with life imprisonment for the crime.
