Actress Meena who is known from the Drishyam movies with Mohanlal to the present generation, is all set to enter politics. She will be making her entry in Tamil Nadu. But Meena has decided to fight for the national party BJP.
Meena met up with vice president Jagdeep Dhankar and this added fuel to the rumours doing rounds. It is said that the BJP will officially announce her entry soon.
A glamorous star of yesteryears, Meena started off as a child artist. She became a top heroine and acted in various Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam films. While was well-liked in Telugu, she has immense popularity in the Tamil industry having acted with stars like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan.
The news is that she will contest in Tamil Nadu Assembly elections next year. It is known that the Tamil audiences always encourage film personalities in politics.
Like Vijay, Khushboo and Kamal Haasan, Meena is trying to make her way into Tamil Nadu politics, though through a national party. As the BJP is trying hard to make inroads into Tamil Nadu, Meena’s glamour and popularity might become an asset for the party, it is being said.
There is another section though who feel Meena needs to show that she has a political agenda and the capacity to fight for her pet projects.
While politics is a gamble, Meena is willing to play her part in it.
