After Arjun Reddy, Another South Remake?

Looks like, the makers of ‘Kabir Singh’, the remake of South blockbuster Vijay Deverakonda’s ‘Arjun Reddy’ have got the taste for remaking a blockbuster in Bollywood. They have wrapped up the shooting for ‘Kabir Singh’ with Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani as the lead pair recently, and they have now acquired the remake rights for another South film ‘Thadam’.

‘Thadam’ is a recent Tamil film that went on to become hugely successful given its content and the execution by the director Magizh Thirumeni with Arun Vijay (‘Bruce Lee’ fame playing dual roles. The film has critical reception as well as box-office collections to its credit and hence, there had been huge interest to buy the remake rights as per the reports in circulation.

So, the makers of ‘Arjun Reddy’ remake ‘Kabir Singh’ were quick to bag the Bollywood remake rights. Nowadays, Bollywood producers are keeping an eye on genuine South blockbusters. Therefore, movies that have real content and are executed well have been selling out like hot cakes.
