Akhanda 2 Vs HHVM: Zero Logic, Zero Sense

Akhanda 2 was shockingly postponed in the final hour, right before the premieres. Social media went overboard right away, turning it into a Balakrishna versus Pawan Kalyan clash, dragging their fan groups, politics, and every unrelated angle into the mix. Some fans even tried to elevate Pawan Kalyan by linking Hari Hara Veera Mallu’s financial troubles before its release and claiming he saved that film. But does any of this hold up? Not at all.

Hari Hara Veera Mallu’s issues have nothing to do with legal disputes from the producer. The film has been stuck in production for years. Everyone knows the reasons behind the delays, why director Krish walked out, how the budget and interest doubled, and why even a veteran producer like A M Rathnam struggled to release it. There were reports that Pawan Kalyan gave up part of his remuneration to help at the last minute, but even after release, the GST dues for the film remain unpaid.

Akhanda 2 is a completely different story. The producers carried forward long-standing legal and financial disputes from a ten-year-old Mahesh Babu project that ended up in court with Eros. These situations are not comparable in any way. Even if Balakrishna wanted to step in and help, the financial burden is enormous, far beyond what any actor could realistically settle.

Yet some groups, driven by malice or political and caste agendas, are twisting the narrative by clubbing these two unrelated financial issues to make Akhanda 2 or Balakrishna look bad. But where is the logic? Hari Hara Veera Mallu struggled due to years of stalled production and the hero’s unavailability. Akhanda 2 is stuck because of old legal disputes inherited from another film. How can anyone compare the two?
