Akhil: Day 1 Expectations

The D-day is arriving in few hours for the new hero from the Akkineni clan. Fans are super excited where as lots of industry colleagues have wished the best. But how is the trade looking at this highly anticipated debut movie and what are their expectations from the opening day?

Remember it’s a mid week release, first and foremost, and although it’s a holiday its not a huge one for Telugu movies. Keeping this in mind and the way the advance booking has progressed so far, this is how the trade is looking at the film as far as openings goes.

Akhil just with minimum occupancy is going to be the biggest opener ever among Akkineni family films. That would mean Akhil crossing long standing Damarukam number of approximately 4.5 Cr plus comfortably. The real test though is how higher it can grow in the current market dynamics. A number that’s to the north of 7 Cr can be seen as good and that’s what the trade is expecting as of now.
