Laxmii premiered on an OTT platform and flopped, while Bell Bottom, the first film released during the pandemic, was also a disaster. Sooryavanshi, directed by Rohit Shetty, stands out as the sole hit film with Akshay as the lead. Atrangi Re streamed on the OTT platform, and garnered decent success, with Dhanush receiving appreciation.
Subsequently, films like Bachchan Paandey, Samrat Prithviraj, Raksha Bandhan, Ram Setu, An Action Hero, Selfiee, and Mission Raniganj all turned out to be huge disasters.
Cuttpuli, another film released on OTT platforms, received an embarrassing response. OMG 2 achieved success, but Akshay only had a cameo role, so it’s not considered significant.
His latest venture, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, is emerging as one of Indian cinema’s biggest disasters, with a budget of 350 crores and a lifetime collection of below 75 crores.
What’s even more alarming is that he has 10 films currently in production, slated for release over the next two years.
Audiences are bored and exhausted of seeing Akshay Kumar every other week. Additionally, Akshay appears old, tired, jaded, and haggard. He neglects his appearance and performance.
