Ali made his debut into Tollywood as a child artist in 1981 with Bharatiraja’s movie ‘Seethakoka Chiluka’ and later turned a comedian. He is 47 now; but playing the friend for young heroes even now. Besides his acting career, Ali is active on television as a host of a couple of telly shows. Recently a brand new show of Ali titled ‘Ali Takies’ has gone on air on Maa TV.
This show is a true Telugu version of popular Hindi comedy show ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’. The concept, the different caricaturish characters and the physical setting of the show all remind us of Kapil’s comedy show. The difference lies in only one thing and that is the indecent and double meaning dialogues. Popular anchor Anasuya comes as Ali’s wife in the show. A lot of cheap dialogues are targetted on her which are irking the family audience.
Unlike Kapil’s show which is still the favourite of all kind of audiences for the comedy timing of the host, Ali isn’t even anywhere near to it. Ali’s diaogues are failing to produce any humour while Anasuya’s get up and double meaning lines are making audience grow averse to the show. Sometimes imitations back fire big way. Don’t you agree?
