All My Current Slate Of Films For OTT Only: Suresh Babu

Senior Producer Suresh Babu has remained tight-lipped about the release of his Drushyam 2 and Virataparvam. Besides these two, he also has a few small films in production. The movies have finished their shootings a long ago but there is no clarity about their release. The promotions of the films have been put on hold.

“All my current slate of releases will go to OTT. The announcements will be made at an appropriate time. I will not release a film in theater until I send my family to watch a film in theaters,” Suresh Babu said. Suresh Babu’s earlier film, Narappa also opted for an OTT release.

Meanwhile, fans are frustrated about the decision as well as the delay. They have come to a stage saying that “Theater or OTT is secondary but decide something and go for the release. Do not wait until the product becomes stale and audience lose interest in the film,” they plead.

Buzz is that Amazon Prime Video has bagged the Direct-to-OTT rights of Drushyam 2. There is no information about Virataparvam but the film’s post-theatrical OTT rights are with Netflix earlier. So, the OTT major may be the first choice for the Direct-to-OTT rights.
