Directed by Sukumar, the film has already taken the internet by storm even before its release by announcing the highest ticket prices ever in India.

According to reports, pricing in the Hindi regions would be almost 10% higher than ‘Singham Again’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’. Pricing in the south will also be significantly higher, owing to the massive demand for the sequel.

Social media has been buzzing with reactions ever since the declaration of price hikes.

One user defended the price hike by commenting, “Allu Arjun’s swag and Sukumar’s direction deserve this. If you want something extraordinary, you pay a premium for it.”

Many, however, came forward to criticize the decision, saying it would hurt the cinema experience. “These crazy prices will drive people away from theatres. OTT platforms are already more convenient and affordable”, said a user.

Analysts also predict that the film will dominate at the Box Office due to a lack of competition. With Chaavva being postponed to avoid competition, the Pushpa 2 will enjoy a solo run for more than 2 weeks.

Trade analysts predict that the film may achieve Day 1 collections of Rs.53-58Cr. in Hindi, with the global collections touching the 100 crore mark.

The film is likely to receive strong competition from ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ and Varun Dhawan’s ‘Baby John’ later this December.

It would be interesting to see how Pushpa 2 benefits from the ticket price hikes as it hits the theatres on 5th December.
