Advance Bookings – Very Poor

November is usually seen as a dull season trade wise in Telugu. Very few films over the years have managed to generate enough interest to bring the audience to theatres in significant numbers. Add to this factor, a star and a director going through the worst phase. It wouldn’t be a big surprise then that the bookings are poor.

Well, that is the situation of Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja starrer Amar Akbar Anthony. It is a crucial film for everyone involved in the movie. From the hero Ravi Teja to the director Srinu Vytla, Sunil is back to doing comedy roles and production house Mythri Movie Makers – everyone needs a hit at this point.

The equation is simple; it would require an excellent effort from Srinu Vytla content-wise to make all involved parties happy. If the talk is good, the opening day will improve substantially without any doubt. But, that is a big ‘if’, given how weak content is getting served.

The situation is worse in the US, once a stronghold of director Srinu Vytla. Everything now depends on the talk Amar Akbar Anthony garners from the premiere. Let us wait and see, if Amar Akbar Anthony proves to be an exception or not.
