Anirudh Ravichander is the most sought-after and highest paid music director in South Indian cinema. There are several times when Anirudh almost single-handedly saved films with his background music, and songs alone.
But that is the opposite in the case with LIK, which has Pradeep Ranganathan in the lead role. This film released in theatres this weekend, and the start has been rather slow.
Despite the fact that Pradeep had delivered a heart hattrick of blockbusters, this did not convert much into the momentum for LIK. After the ordinary start, the film is struggling to hold a momentum at the box office.
If we spin the discussion back to it needs to be said that the star music hasn’t necessarily given his best for the film. Except for the viral Dhima Dhima song, there isn’t much musical impetus in the film.
Many people who had watched the film romantic that Anirudh has also evidently taken the film lightly after watching the kind of mediocre content that was on display. If the novelty presentation or not matching good standards, there’s very little he can do to rectify it.
Generally, Anirudh is a very concentrated musician and likes to give his best possible output for a film. But even he appears to be detached from this delayed product, which has been introduction for several months or even years together.
In the end, if Anirudh can’t save a film, then there is very little that any other technician can do to salvage it.
