Social networking sites have become a great place for popular celebrities to interact with their fans. Unfortunately it has also become a paradise for imposters who fake the celebrities and draw following by fooling the fans of the respected celebrity.
There have been so many such imposter accounts in the past and the latest one to get noticed is an account of director Mani Ratnam. The director is seen as a legend among his fans and even has great following among actors. Therefore when an account was created on his name many followed him only to realize now that it was an imposter.
As activities of these kind are becoming more and more the police too are taking stringent measures to nab them under cyber crime. One doesn’t still understand why anyone goes through such a trouble doing something when they know the kind of punishment that awaits them. Here’s hoping that some sense is put into these imposter’s with more people being caught.
