AP Govt Permits Ticket Hikes For Chiru, Balayya

The Sankranthi festival season is finally upon us and so is the high octane box office clash between Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya and Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy.

Coming to the topic, the government of Andhra Pradesh has permitted ticket price hikes for both Chiru and Balayya starrers.

The government passed a new order, permitting a hike of Rs 45+ GST for both Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya.

Most of new releases have been going with the standard ticket prices in the Telugu states. But given the Sankranthi frenzy, and the rich tradition of Telugu audience lapping up new films during the festive season, both Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya have gone for hiked prices.

In Telangana, there’s a GO in place, that permits makers to price the tickets at upto Rs 295 at plexes. There were instances when makers of biggies got permission for addition hikes as well but that misfired badly.

So, the Rs 295 pricing could be considered optimal for both new releases in Telangana this Sankranthi.
