
Several theatre owners have gone to the Andhra Pradesh High Court and filed a petition, requesting for the GO issued by the government to be taken back, as they would suffer severe losses, if there were no hike in ticket prices and if they are no extra shows, as they bought the film at a hefty price. While the decision on this petition would be taken on Monday, the HC has, in the mean time, stayed the government’s GO, permitting the theatres to charge the whatever ticket price they deem necessary.
While Vakeel Saab’s collections will now pick up during the weekend in AP, theatres in the state have had to witness lesser collections on the first day, which the theatres will not be able to recuperate, no matter what, as the extra shows got cancelled.
Whatever the HC’s decision may be on Monday, theatres in AP are definitely going to get a huge breath of relief until Monday, and they might not run into losses.
