Now, it’s Salaar’s turn, and the fact that the U.S. distributor had to process significant refunds due to Salaar’s recent postponement highlights the incredible buzz surrounding the film.
However, the Salaar team is facing an unexpected challenge from the Hollywood film “Aquaman 2.” Warner Bros. has made a slight change to its upcoming theatrical schedule, moving “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” (Aquaman 2) from Dec. 20 to Dec. 22. Previews will be now scheduled for the 21st, directly conflicting with Salaar U.S. Premieres.
Major theater chains like AMC, Cinemark, and Regal tend to prioritize Aquaman 2 over Indian films, regardless of the Indian film’s buzz. Negotiating for more screens for Salaar, especially in larger formats like XD, will be a challenging task.
This poses an expected headache for Salaar’s U.S. distributor, and it will also impact the release of Shah Rukh Khan’s “Dunki” on Dec 22nd.
