AR Murugadoss Replaced Hero Character with Heroine

The Hindi remake version of Tamil movie ‘Mouna Guru’ titled ‘Akira’ is going to be released in theaters next week. Bollywood heroine Sonakshi Sinha is playing the lead role as an angry young woman.

In the original, the protagonist was a hero, a male character. But it was Murugadoss’ idea to change the male character to female as he wants actresses to do powerful action roles in movies. Unlike mindless power of the hero beating half-a-dozen goons easily, in ‘Akira’ Murugadoss used reason for the strength of Sonakshi’s role.

She is playing a woman who has a past to avenge and who is trained in martial arts. That means there is reason for her power. The trailer of the movie won accolades for the way Sonakshi’s character is shaped. As the film is going to hit theaters very soon, let’s wait to see the woman power in Murugadoss movie.
