Are Music Directors Right Persons To Judge A Film?

Anirudh Ravichander often hints at the success of the films he works on. He did this for Rajinikanth’s Jailer and Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan both of which became huge blockbusters. Now, he’s done the same for Thalapathy Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film Leo.

Following in Anirudh’s footsteps, Thaman has declared Balayya’s Bhagavanth Kesari a blockbuster on his social media. He shared a special photo of Nandamuri Balakrishna posing with him.

Actually, music directors are the right people to judge a movie’s result before its release. They watch the whole film in its entirety and they can truly gauge if the film will be a success or not.

In recent times, the influence of music directors on a film’s success has grown significantly. Take, for instance, Akhanda or Jailer where Thaman and Anirudh received as much credit as the directors themselves, thanks to their outstanding music, especially the background score.

Thaman praised, elevated, and promoted Pawan Kalyan’s Bheemla Nayak on a different level on social media before its release which made fans go berserk. Though the film turned out to be a bit underwhelming, Thaman’s BGM worked big time.

Today, BGM has become more important than songs in a film’s overall impact, as demonstrated by the success of Jailer and Jawan. Even though Leo’s songs may not have received overwhelming praise, fans have faith in Anirudh’s ability to deliver a rousing background score.

It’s clear that music directors are well-positioned to offer insights into a film’s potential success, and fans are also increasingly trusting their assessments and reviews as a reliable gauge of a movie’s quality.
