The alleged cheating case involving Bigg Boss Telugu fame Ashu Reddy has now become a major talking point in Tollywood and on social media. She has been accused of taking Rs. 9.35 crore from a London-based software engineer by promising marriage, which has led to a police case and ongoing legal action.
The complaint was filed by Satyanarayana, father of Y. V. Dharmendra. As per the complaint, Ashu Reddy has known Dharmendra since 2018 and allegedly convinced him to spend large amounts of money on cars, gold, and properties in her name. The case is currently being investigated by the Hyderabad Central Crime Station.
Adding to the controversy, an audio clip is going viral online, which many claim features Ashu Reddy’s voice. In the clip, the speaker is heard talking about repaying Rs. 1.5 crore by May and settling the remaining amount later after she is settled in life. There are also mentions of filing harassment cases if pressure continues. The voice also mentions that a person named “Praveena akka” had been contacted and is acting as a mediator. The speaker warns that if pressure continues, a harassment case could be filed.
The conversation also includes references to family members, urging that they are not dragged into the matter, and questions why someone visited the house without permission. Toward the end, she reiterates that representatives would handle the issue and that payment would be settled by May. There’s also mention of Venu Swamy in the clip.
However, this audio has not been officially verified, and authorities have not confirmed if it is genuine.
Meanwhile, Ashu Reddy has approached the Telangana High Court, asking for the FIR against her to be dismissed. She claims the case was filed without hearing her side and says the allegations are meant to damage her reputation. She has also requested protection from further police action for now.
Her father has come out in her support, saying she would not do such things. On the other hand, the complainant’s family says they have proof of transactions worth over Rs. 9 crores.
The investigation is still ongoing, and the final outcome will depend on what the evidence shows in court.
