Senior actress Shakeela was notoriously famous for C grade films in Malayalam and there was a time when she ruled Mollywood with back to back films when superstars like Mammootty and Mohanlal used to back away whenever there was a Shakeela’s film ready for release.

In a recent chat show, Shakeela revealed how she did all those characters though she didn’t like them. There was no story. The makers used to approach her and say, she will have a bedroom scene and a bathing scene. That’s all. There is no story and she accepted those films only for money.

Even after 17 years, she is carrying the burden of that hot image. But, she wants to try something different. In Telugu, she is okay with the kind of films offered to her. For the first time, she will be seen in a weeping scene in the upcoming movie ‘Kobbarimatta‘ and she hopes, audiences accept her in such roles even, forgetting her previous image as a hottie. Hope, her dream comes true.
