Baahubali gives unseen competition to Rudrama?

Both the magnum opuses ‘Baahubali’ and ‘Rudramadevi’ have many things in common. They are period films based on the achievement stories of warriors of bygone period. They both have Anushka playing the female lead and Rana Daggubati featuring in both the movies. Being made simultaneously by two big film makers’ Rajamouli and Gunasekhar; the competition between them is inevitable.

One day after the release of Allu Arjun’s warrior look as Gona Ganna Reddy, the warrior look of Prabhas as ‘Baahubali’ was released. Though Allu Arjun’s warrior look won a lot of acclaim, the look seemed to be more of a copy from western warrior look. Allu Arjun’s look also has similarities with the character of ‘Titla’ (Ajay) of Rajamouli’s ‘Vikramarkudu’.

Now the release of Prabhas’ warrior like look from ‘Baahubali’ is seen as a competition for Allu Arjun’s Kakatiya warrior look. One seems to be like a western inspiration and the other one seems to be desi look which we have seen in many period and folk story movies revolving around the stories of Kings and Queens in yesteryear movies. Only time will tell which one would actually win the hearts of the audiences.
