Backdoor Entry For RRR At Oscars

For the past few weeks, it has become a hot topic of discussion among fans and media circles that SS Rajamouli‘s fictional patriotic drama, RRR, has a high chance of representing India at the Oscars 2023.

Adding more buzz to the news, the reputed Hollywood entertainment website Variety recently reported that NTR Junior is on the list of actors who might get nominated for Oscars 2023 for Best Actor.

The same website even reported that RRR has eligibility to directly get nominated for Oscars even if the Indian jury won’t consider it for Oscars 2023.

Even if the Indian jury doesn’t find it eligible to be nominated, it can still be submitted in all other general categories, including best director and picture.

RRR received tremendous applause from all quarters of the world after it was released on digital giant Netflix. Considering the same criteria, RRR has now got a special convince to make a direct entry to the Oscars 2023 even though the Indian jury neglects it and tilts towards Hindi films.

Lagaan was the last film to be nominated in the top 5 best films in the foreign category in 2001. In the last two decades, no Indian film has received any nominations, and now RRR has a bright chance to change fate, say entertainment circles.
