Ban On Animal: The Latest Controversy

The release of the Animal trailer has stirred up a storm of controversies, particularly centering around issues of male toxicity and the perceived overindulgence in violence.

However, the latest uproar within cinephile circles revolves around the recurrent use of the ‘Swastika’ symbol in the film’s promotional content, spanning the trailer, teaser, and songs.

Accusations against director Sandeep Reddy Vanga have reached a crescendo, with some claiming he is promoting extremism and Nazi philosophy to provoke a specific audience.

Some argue that Vanga is a master of his craft, urging detractors to let him work in peace. A user suggested that Vanga might be purposefully toying with controversial imagery, ready to feign ignorance if backlash becomes overwhelming.

Adding another layer to the controversy, a faction subscribing to extreme right ideologies is accusing Vanga of demonizing the Swastika. They are urging Hindus from all over the world to file a petition with the Indian government for intervention, seeking a ban on ‘Animal’ for allegedly portraying the Swastika, a Hindu symbol, as a hate symbol.

While the controversy may initially appear as unwarranted noise, there’s a lurking possibility that it could inadvertently add fuel to the already blazing hype surrounding Animal.
