Teaser Talk: Mass Festival Entertainer

The teaser of the first big movie in the New Year is out, and it’s of Bangarraju. The film starring Akkineni Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya is promoted as a perfect festival entertainer, and the teaser highlights the same aspect.

As expected, there is not much revealing of the main plot of Bangarraju, and basically, what we get is an extended glimpse of the different characters and a hint at the story of the film.

There is the romance between the young, Naga Chaitanya and Krithi Shetty, and the older, Nagarjuna and Ramya Krishna, and then there is the elections angle. Just when we think that is it, there is a twist in the tale towards the end with the fantasy element involving Yamadharmaraju and saints. We have to see how it is all integrated into the narrative.

Whatever may be the case, it is clear that Bangarraju is aimed at the Sankranthi festival crowd. With RRR out of Sankranthi race, it is going to be a massive advantage for the film.

Kalyan Krishna of Soggade Chinni Nayana fame directs Bangarraju. It is still not apparent if the story is a sequel or prequel of the movie. The relationship between Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya continues to be shrouded in mystery, which is fine in a way.
