BAN Opening Passes A Test –Fails Another

In our run up to the release, we had written that Bharat Ane Nenu is coming with massive expectations and hype among fans to break records. It had two targets before to achieve, among which one has been passed.

Superstar Mahesh Babu has scored the career-best opening with Bharat Ane Nenu. In the process of achieving that, he has also crossed the 20 Cr milestone for the first time on the first day. According to the buzz in the trade, the movie has collected close to twenty-three crores on the opening day in the Telugu states.

The number is big and is bigger than the recently released biggie. However, it is not in the top three as far as the all-time opening list is considered, that is excluding the two Baahubali movies. It has therefore failed the second test.

Coming to the trend on the second day, it shows a mixed response based on the audience. The urban audience has lapped it up whereas the mass centres are low. We have to see how well the movie stabilises in the former segment and picks or drops in the latter category to arrive at the final total.
