
Yes, Son of Satyamurthy despite getting to the top of the collections for the year is still far away from getting break even to the distributors. The makers are still going hard with promotions and aided by luck such as the postponement of film like Ganga, SOS is still scraping through at the box office. But can it do enough is what has the trade divided. While few feel it would be very difficult others think by this weekend the film could get to breakeven status in two or three territories.
All said and done there are two ways to look at it. One is to think of it as a disappointment and a great chance missed to score another massive success right on the heels of Race Gurram for the star. The other is to think that despite not so encouraging talk the collections SOS has got. But with such a combination and release period, we think the latter isn’t that difficult to achieve and hence go ahead with the first inference.
