Bollywood was eagerly anticipating the release of the upcoming film “Fighter,” on January 25 starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone as it is expected to be the first big Bollywood blockbuster of the year.
The film’s trailer released a few days ago garnered a good to decent response from audiences. But the biggest letdown has to be its music. The songs “Ishq Jaisa Kuch” and “Sher Khul Gaye” also failed to generate much excitement among Bollywood fans.
Siddharth Anand’s last film Pathaan’s hype was huge as it was the comeback movie of Shah Rukh Khan. And the hype soared even more due to extremely popular songs like Besharam Rang and Jhoome Jo Pathaan.
Fighter lacks such kind of hit music and that is also one of the biggest reasons that the advance bookings are not up to the expectations. ‘Fighter’ has sold around 35,000 tickets sold in national chains PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis as of Sunday midnight.
The film right now looks to open in the range of 25-30 crores.
If the word of mouth is positive then Fighter can show a huge growth on day 2 as it is a national holiday, Republic Day. The first four-day weekend collections should cross 150-160 crores net for the film to have some hope at the box office.
