Biggest Problem Coming Up For Bangarraju

Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya’s Bangarraju got off to a dream start at the box office. The film minted close to Rs 8.2 crores share worldwide on its opening day, which is a pretty impressive feat. The Sankranthi season release is clearly helping the cause.

But the real problem for Bangarraju starts from 18th January, when the 50% seating capacity regulation and night curfew will be coming to effect in Andhra Pradesh.

Bangarraju is doing particularly well in Andhra region and this territory might not contribute as much once the seating capacity restrictions come in effect. This is very much the biggest threat for Bangarraju now.

The family entertainer was sold for pretty high prices in AP as exhibitions and distributors rushed to acquire the film’s rights, given the fact that it is the solo biggie to arrive in theatres this festival season. For the film to recover the investments, it will have to hold strong at least for a couple of weeks. But will it be able to do so with the onset of the said regulations in AP? We have to wait and see.
