Blessing In Disguise Or Squabble In Store For BAN?

A few days ago there was a strike in South Indian film industries, especially Telugu and Tamil, that resulted in stopping of movie screenings. The producers in Telugu film industry came to an agreement, and the theatres started shows all over. It looked like a happy ending, but unfortunately, that is not the case in Tamil film industry.

One thing has led to other, with old skeletons coming out of the closet. The result is the strike gaining momentum further with not just the movie screenings but entire film industry coming to a standstill. As of now, no new Tamil movie will be screened, and works related to it has to be stopped.

Simply put, if the strike continues, it will affect the release chart of Tamil biggies. Basically, it means Kaala getting pushed, and if that happened, there would be a big opening to make use, for Telugu film industry.

While it is speculative at the moment, if a delay in the release of Kaala indeed happens, the film that would directly benefit from it is Bharat Ane Nenu. It would get two open weeks. However, the more pertinent question here is will the slot be not up for grabs if Kaala exits. Wouldn’t Naa Peru Surya revert to its date? If that happens will BAN too make a move to the same date like before?

These are all speculations, and everything depends on how long the strike continues in Tamil film industry. After all who would want to lose prime summer slot revenues? And that is what will be in store if the deadlock prolongs.
