Bollywood Critics Eulogizing Prabhas as Salman Ka Bhai

Prabhas‘ back-to-back movie announcements during this pandemic period and that too, large scale films with big combinations has made Bollywood critics and media and ponder upon the fact that a new pan-Indian star has arrived.

When Chiranjeevi‘s ‘Pratibandh’ went to Bollywood he was praised a ‘Bigger than Bachchan’. However, it was just one pan-Indian movie back then. Now, Prabhas is proving an altogether different phenomenon that Bollywood critics are calling him ‘Salman Ka Bhai’. Why do they think Prabhas has arrived to shoulder the mass masala entertainers?

It’s because Prabhas has delivered three back-to-back hits with regional movies dubbed into Hindi and Salman who already has a big market in North India couldn’t conquer the market down South. His movies were limited to metro cities’ audiences.

Prabhas’ forthcoming movies have all the potential to cement his position as a pan-Indian star and shoulder the true mass masala entertainers that were missing big time because the Bollywood filmmakers somewhere lost the art of coming up with local masala.

The recent commercial entertainers were a bit westernised and therefore, the huge stardom and scale of a star like Prabhas ensure that the tastes of the local audiences across the county are satiated. At the end of the day, all eyes are set on Prabhas and they would be observing him very closely.
