Bollywood OTT Trend Coming to Tollywood?

OTT Platforms have registered a massive surge in the Lockdown as people are locked in their houses. With theaters closed and Television running out of content, OTT is their only resort. There are reports that some producers would want to offload their films to OTT players to minimize the losses due to the delay.

But then, there is a big gap between the expectations of the film producers and what the OTT players feel reasonable. In the wake of this, OTT platforms are now keen on reaching out to a few Telugu directors to shoot original content for their platform. This trend is already in place for English and Hindu.

And it may become rampant in Telugu as well. As of now, this is confined only to Web Series in Telugu. OTT players want to make films and that too with popular directors going forward. That will also be cost-effective and at the same time, there is a scope for variety and original content.

A couple of such films may go on floors after the Lockdown conditions are eased.
