Bombay Velvet: One Man’s Dream, Everyman’s Nightmare

Some film makers like Anurag Kashyap fill in the gaps with such perfection that the audiences are left in awe for the art of filmmaking. His last film ‘Barfi’ won accolades of praises and his upcoming movie ‘Bombay Velvet’ starring heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles is all set for May release.

The theatrical of this much awaited film is out and the 1960’s styling of the actors is truly mind-blowing. The complete makeover of Ranbir Kapoor in retro look, Anushka as a jazz singer in a top class club is outsanding. The special attraction is of course Karan Johar, top Bollywood film maker playing the menacing villain.

The story is the journey of a common man to become a big shot and how the one man’s dream becomes everyman’s nightmare. Both Ranbir and Anushka live their characters giving the audience the flavour of believability.
