For Whistle, the opening day ensured even a drop gets it a decent weekend. The second day did show some concern, but it was back on track again on Sunday. Overall, Whistle has collected approximately 6.5 Cr for the weekend, making it highest for Vijay in Telugu.
It was a different case with Karthi’s Khaidi. The opening day was very low. It enabled the movie to grow through the weekend. The third day (Sunday) turned out to be the best or Khaidi. It has collected nearly 2 Cr and is sure to be a profit maker for its buyers in Telugu states.
The real test will come in the weekdays from Wednesday. Whichever movie sustains will be the real winner in the end. Khaidi has a little less ground to cover compared to Whistle. The latte is also not far away from breakeven. Watch this space to get the ‘real’ picture.
