Box Office: How Did GK and Hanuman Start?

Tollywood saw two new theatrical releases Guntur Kaaram and Hanuman yesterday, January 12th. Here is a look at the kind of start these two films got at the box office.

According to reports, Guntur Kaaram collected in the range of Rs 11.5 -12 crore share in the Nizam region on its first day which is a very strong start for a regional film.

And despite the constrained number of theaters, Hanuman fares exceedingly well as it posted a very impressive ~ Rs 3 crore share in the Nizam area.

Overall, Guntur Kaaram is set to get off to a good start at the box office on its opening day. But with the mixed-to-poor word of mouth, it has to be seen how the film will fare over the weekend.

On the other hand, Hanuman is punching above its weight and is running to packed capacities in A centers. There are reports that Hanuman’s performance in certain B centers in the Telugu states is better than that of Guntur Kaaram’s which is completely unexpected.

Coming to USA, which is a stronghold for both Mahesh Babu and Trivikram, Hanuman is trending better than Guntur Kaaram.

Per Location Average at 10 PM EST:

#Hanuman Per Loc Avg: $1,231
Total: $484,175

#GunturKaaram Per Loc Avg $414
Total: $368,026
