Box Office: Sir Enters Profits In First Weekend

Tamil star Dhanush’s latest bilingual, Sir which also marks his straight Telugu debut has opened on a pretty strong note at the box office.

The film has reportedly grossed over Rs 15 crores at the Telugu box office in the opening weekend itself. The film has evidently made the most of the Mahasivaratri advantage to progress along the weekend with good revenues.

As per the latest box office reports, the film has reached the breakeven mark in every circuit across the Telugu states and has entered the profits zone already.

At this rate, the film is heading towards blockbuster status in terms of box office returns. The positive word of mouth has clearly helped the cause for this period social drama.

The two versions have combined to gross $228K in the USA which adds to the box office prospects. The Telugu version is dominating the Tamil version here.

There are reports that the global gross of both Telugu and Tamil versions is over Rs 40 crores gross. This is a grade-A start for the Dhanush starrer which is funded by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas.
