BO: Skanda Posts Ram’s Career Best Start

Ram Pothineni has taken the mass high route with Skanda which is an out and out mass actioner in Boyapati style.

Despite the feared poor reviews, Skanda has started pretty well at the box office as it has posted Ram’s career best numbers in terms of opening day collections.

Skanda collected in the range of Rs 8 crores in the Telugu states on its opening day which is a career best figure for Ram. The film didn’t take a toll from the poor reviews as it managed to strike a chord with the target mass audience.

Skanda had a good run in the mass belts in the Andhra region and if it can make the most of the long weekend, the results could be big for the Ram starrer.

Mass films with good combinations always have the advantage of good openings and the same has happened with Skanda now. Boyapati mass and the commercial aspect have resulted in good openings for the film.

And another aspect to be noted here is that the film has a fair few anti-YCP government seqneces and these are reportedly receiving a thunderous response from the audience. Pair this with the current situation in AP in the aftermath of the negativity YCP bagged with the arrest of CBN, Skanda has a good prospect going its way.

A lot is at stake for Skanda as it has done career highest pre release business for Ram and the onus is on the film to pull through the long weekend, if it is to reach the target.
