BO Talk: WOM Helping Virupaksha

Sai Dharam Tej tried his hand at content-driven films with Virupaksha and his attempt appears to have paid off, or at least on course to pay off.

Virupaksha got off to a moderate start at the box office when it comes to the morning show. The positive reviews and word of mouth then started to work in favor of the film and it picked up big time over the evening and night shows.

There were substantial addition in the screens for the evening and night shows in Andhra Pradesh, thanks to the encouraging reception for the earlier shows. This is a positive sign for the film.

At this rate, Virupaksha’s day 2 at the box office will be bigger than the day 1 tally. Sai should now be a very happy man as he had been in desperate need of commercial success and Virupaksha has started off on an excellent note in the right direction.

At this rate, Virupaksha is staring at a fruitful weekend. If it can carry forward the momentum from the first day and score big over the weekend, a sizeable chunk of the investments could be recovered.
