It has come to our attention that a Buddhist national group in Sri Lanka going by the name of Ravana Balaya has a beef with some of our South Indian actor and has therefore urged the National Film Corporation here to ban films starring actors Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Sarath Kumar and Vijay. In this respect, the group has already filed a petition to the requisite authorities over a month ago.
In fact, the Chairman of National Film Corporation, Asoka Serasinghe confirmed the news on Thursday saying that they had received a petition which has been further passed to the Ministry of Mass Media and Information. However no decision has yet been taken on this issue.
In the interim, quite a few actors and technicians of the Sri Lankan film society appealed to their counterparts in Tamil Nadu to visit Sri Lanka and assess the post-war situation on the 11th of April.
