Can Harish Shankar do Gabbar with Vedalam?

If the latest reports doing the rounds in the industry are to be believed director Harish Shankar has been reportedly approached for Telugu remake of Tamil hit Vedalam. Pawan Kalyan of course would be the lead in the film. The question here is can the director repeat Gabbar Singh magic?

Remember Gabbar Singh too was a remake of Hindi blockbuster Dabangg which was entirely based on Bollywood star Salman Khan’s mannerism and body language. Its Tamil remake was a huge flop. But director Harish Shankar made such changes that it looked completely fresh in Telugu. Will that be possible with Vedalam?

The answer would be mixed one as this film too is a formulaic picture. But unlike Dabangg which had solid narrative Vedalam was weaker in comparison and was lifted big time by the lead Ajith in his own unique style. Without those scenes one can’t imagine the film to succeed. To develop scenes equivalent of them in Pawan Kalyan style would be a massive challenge which might prove to be difficult for Harish Shankar. We have to wait and see therefore if they go ahead with remake or do something new.
