As we all know, Prabhas is essaying the role of Lord Ram in director Om Raut’s Adipurush. The epic is carrying tremendous hype ever since its announcement, even though it is still a long way from release.
However, to those unaware, producer Madhu Mantena and Allu Aravind had announced the Ramayan adaptation long back (in 2017). In fact, since a lot of time has passed, many assumed it might have been shelved. However, from time to time, we get a reminder that it would get on sets.
The speculation about the casting of Lord Ram in this Ramayan adaptation has been going on for more than a couple of years now. The names of Ranveer Singh, Hrithik Roshan, were heard previously, and the latest addition is Mahesh Babu.
The interesting thing here is that Mahesh Babu will be in a situation where ‘comparison’ will arise for his role for the first time. As Prabhas is already doing the part, and he has been successful in a similar space with Baahubali, he is at an advantage, undoubtedly.
But, it is mere speculation at the moment, and Mahesh Babu is not yet approached. Given his forthcoming projects and the expected time to complete them, it would take a few years even if he accepts it. A debate on the comparison (between Mahesh Babu and Prabhas), therefore, is a futile exercise at the moment.
