Can Yash Succeed Where Prabhas Couldn’t?

The way in which Prabhas emerged as a great star with Baahubali was how Yash came up as a star with KGF. Yet, all the films following Baahubali-the one being Saaho and then Radhe Shyam failed to reach such status for Prabhas and therefore, raise doubts if the same will happen to him too.

Geetu Mohandas’s new film Toxic starring Yash has already raised some eyes, as his co-actor Akshay Oberoi has praised Yash’s action performance. In Ramayana, Yash will also essay Ravana, which shows how much he can adapt and get into any skin.

Films like Saaho and Radhe Shyam which were a box office failure, Prabhas’s career since Baahubali became complicated. The popularity of those films could not reach the same levels as Baahubali, and in the end, all that publicity worked as pressure to do justice to a historic smash.

Yash seems to be avoiding Prabhas’s mistake by doing all sorts of roles. From a mythological role in Ramayana to actions in Toxic, he is making strategic decisions for a long-term career and staying out of the mold.

Yash is perfectly capable of avoiding the problems Prabhas had to face because of his diversified professional approach, including working with brilliant filmmakers and taking up bold roles. While Prabhas couldn’t stay as pan-Indian star for too long, Yash can if Toxic and Ramayana work.
