TDP President Chandra Babu Naidu has written a letter to Election Commission requesting to announce results as per two counting methods. There are two ways of counting – Display Ballot counting and Printer Auxiliary counting. Display Ballot counting is the traditional counting system through which results are displayed in the control unit when they are connected to EVMs.
Printer Auxiliary Unit is an add on to the existing EVMs. They can be connected to EVMs and the results can be obtained in the form of a detailed print out. Chandra Babu believes that using both the methods for counting will clear any disparities or confusions regarding the votes. However Printer Auxiliary counting units are not available in huge numbers. So, Election Commission had promised Chandra Babu to use them where ever possible.
