Chiranjeevi’s Sasirekha Song: Will Time Change Opinions?

Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu‘s first song, “Meesala Pilla,” became a huge hit and gave a strong boost to the film’s buzz. Many listeners initially compared it with Bheems’ earlier hit “Godaari Gattu”, but once the full song was released, people appreciated the tune, choreography, Chiranjeevi’s style, and his trademark steps with Nayanthara. It eventually turned into a viral chartbuster.

However, the second single Sasirekha has triggered mixed reactions online. Some fans praised Chiranjeevi’s youthful screen presence and graceful performance, while others started trolling the tune and composition. A few social media users compared the tune with the song “Katyayani” from Mouli’s Little Hearts, and memes started circulating.

In today’s digital world, trolling has become common for every film-related release, especially musical content. But otherwise also, many listeners felt that the song could have been musically more polished. Director Anil Ravipudi seems to have visualized the song in the style of Chiranjeevi’s evergreen classics and tried to create a similar vibe for Sasirekha.

The main issue audiences pointed out was with the vocals. Bheems Ceciroleo composed and also sang the song, but his voice did not fully match Chiranjeevi’s on-screen energy and grace. Fans are used to hearing singers like Udit Narayan, SP Balasubrahmanyam, Mano, or Karthik for Chiranjeevi’s romantic songs. In fact, even though the tune of the first single was predictable, Udit Narayan’s voice added charm and nostalgia. With the second song, many felt something was missing, and that missing part was the vocal texture.

Still, some listeners believe the song will grow over time. Telugu audiences often develop a liking for melodies after multiple listens. Sasirekha may also turn into a favorite once it settles with repeated listening.
