Chiranjeevi’s Strict Warning: Stop Spreading Rumors

The strike by film workers in the Telugu film industry has entered its eighth day, bringing all Tollywood shootings to a complete standstill. The Telugu Film Industry Employees Federation began the protest demanding a 30 percent wage hike along with daily payments, a move that has put considerable pressure on producers and filmmakers.

The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce has taken a strong position, instructing producers not to negotiate directly with federation unions. This stance has increased tensions, leaving uncertainty over when the impasse will be resolved.

Earlier today, union leaders gathered at their office to discuss whether to continue the strike. Later, producers and representatives from the federation met at the Film Chamber to review the proposals put forward by the producers.

Amid these developments, some media reports suggested that Megastar Chiranjeevi had met federation members at his residence to help mediate the matter. Chiranjeevi’s team swiftly denied these claims, calling them false.

Taking to social media platform X, formerly Twitter, Chiranjeevi made it clear that he had not met anyone from the federation. He stated that this was an industry-wide issue and no single individual, including himself, could guarantee a solution on their own.

He stressed that only the Film Chamber, as the primary industry body, had the authority to lead discussions and find a fair settlement. He also criticised the spread of baseless rumours, which he said were only adding to the confusion.

Meanwhile, the federation workers have stayed firm in their demands and announced plans for a protest march from their office to the Film Chamber on August 10 if talks fail to progress. The industry and its audiences now hope that through constructive dialogue and mutual understanding, the strike will end soon so that filmmaking can resume without further disruption.
