Couple's treasure hunt lands them in jail

A couple Ravinder and Padma from Amberpet in Hyderabad were arrested on Wednesday. The couple believing the words of a sorcerer reportedly dug a 30 feet deep pit in search of a treasure and to be crorepatis over night. Their activites were suspected by their neighbors. They have complained to the police suspecting they are performing some black magic.

The neighbours raided their house to find pooja material by the pit. Padma threatened to kill herself if they told some one about the pit. They complained to the police and the Khakis took the couple in to custody. The couple even after the arrest maintained that they dug the pit for water storage.

This digigng work was going on for more than six months. The couple were booked under IPC Section 268 (Public Nuisance), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation), and under Section 3 of Black Magic Act. Ravinder is in-charge of a private blood bank, Padma is a housewife.
