After 18 years of marriage, actor Dhanush and his former wife Aishwarya Rajinikanth have decided to part ways. Their separation was announced in 2022, and since then, they have been staying away from each other.
Recently, they formally filed for divorce in the Chennai Family Court. Upon reviewing their petition, Justice Subhadevi sent them notices, asking for a court appearance on October 7 for individual hearings.
Dhanush and Aishwarya tied the knot in 2004 and have two sons, Yatra and Linga. In 2022, they said that they were getting separated due to personal reasons.
Later, it was reported that Aishwarya’s father Rajinikanth had tried solving issues between them but nothing seemed to have worked out.
They said that they are filing for divorce on mutual consent and have no external pressures. Generally, the court asks couples to reconsider their decision and gives them time.
As the judge didn’t give that chance to Dhanush and Aishwarya, it seems apparent that they want to get divorced officially and are not in the mood to reconcile.
On the career front, Dhanush will be next seen in the film Kubera, which is being directed by Shekar Kammula. On the other side, Aishwarya has recently come up with her directorial venture, Lal Salaam. It ended up as a failure at the box office.
