The POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) is one of the most highly sensitive laws in India, and the movie Court – State Vs A Nobody weaves a story around it.
The movie’s theatrical trailer is out, and Nani has pinned high hopes on the film—both to earn goodwill as a producer and to succeed in theatres. He believes that word of mouth will multiply, given the film’s genuine and emotional premise.
The trailer reveals the core crux of the film—a young boy faces a life-threatening situation after being entangled in a POCSO case, leading to emotional turmoil for the families involved.
Priyadarshi plays the lawyer who takes up the case, standing by the boy. The trailer focuses heavily on family emotions and the legal battle, but as a cut, it’s decent and effectively sets expectations for what the film offers.
They could have added some nerve-wracking courtroom proceedings to elevate the trailer. Even one or two intense courtroom moments would have hyped it up and created stronger impact.
Courtroom films thrive on strong writing, gripping narratives, and intense exchanges in the court—elements that could elevate this trailer’s impact.
While the film is sure to gain goodwill, the question remains: Will it be nominal, or will it strike the right chord with audiences? That will be answered once it hits theatres. But for now, the trailer successfully sets the right expectations.
Court – State Vs A Nobody written and directed by Ram Jagadeesh, produced by Wall Poster Cinema, Nani presents and co-produced by Deepthi Ganta, Nani’s sister. It will be out in theaters on 14th March.
