Cyber Crimes making life difficult for police

Vishakapatnam is one of the top cities in the countries registering cyber crimes in loads every day. However with no dedicated cyber crime department, 90% of these cases particularly the phishing cases were not solved. Over 100 phishing cases were registered in the city over the last 10 months.

Most of the accused in these cases are from foreign countries as well as North Indian states, making the life difficult for the police department. The police department had no cyber crime department to track down such cases and money recovery is almost impossible.

With the state government recently announced a state of art Cyber Crime Police Station in Visakhapatnam, the department hopes that very soon these cases will be dealt with an iron fist especially as it adds muscle to the department which currently lacks man-power as well as technical expertise.
