Anti Fans Made the Edit & Faked It!

Designer Vinci Raj who made the first look of Rajinikanth-Murugadoss’ upcoming movie ‘Darbar’ rubbished the talk that the poster was inspired and copied from the poster of 2017 Hollywood movie ‘Killing Gunthur’ featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger in the lead role. Of course, one can’t deny the similarities between the two posters.

So, Vinci Raj’s poster design for ‘Darbar‘ caught the attention of social media users and they started trolling him for copying the poster from the Hollywood movie. But, the designer maintained that he never saw the poser of the above-mentioned Hollywood movie until the allegations of plagiarism surfaced. So, there is no question of being even inspired. He says that anti-fans of Rajnikanth edited the poster and faked it.

Similarities between posters of different movies isn’t a new thing in the movie industry. Most of our posters seem to have conspicuous similarities with Hollywood movie posters. Nevertheless, not all the posters that are similar can be categorised as plagiarism. If two posters are remotely similar even by coincidence, social media trolls aren’t going to spare. That’s how it is, these days!
