Decoy operations to gauge security in Hyd

In the backdrop of shootout at Neerus recently, Police department is conducting extensive decoy operations to gauge security measures at all the shopping malls in Hyderabad. After the operation, it is found that almost all the malls lack proper security measures.

Most of the malls have door-frame metal detectors (DFMDs) which were not properly working. Even when they work well and beeps, the security guards never really bother to check. Recently, officials of Panjagutta Police station in Mufti managed to enter a mall with a pistol and grenade.

Police also say that the frisking methods of the guards at the malls are incorrect.They also know little about detecting bombs and arms and are clueless about how to react in such a situation. At a time intelligence reports suggest that Hyderabad is vulnerable to such attacks, this is a worrying report.
